We decided to have a tomahawk steak, and as you can see sea food. It was the first time my wife and I eating there and we can say, we were not disappointed at all. The service, the atmosphere and the people were excellent. If you're ever in NYC and looking for a great place to eat, then I recommend this place for sure!! I give it an A++. More

This place is known for seafood, so came with a buddy that has been here numerous times to try it out. I had the restaurant week dinner special, and we ordered some oysters and crab claws as appetizers. The oysters were delicious, and the main dishes were good overall. The pace of the dining experience, however, was slow paced, and by the time we were done, we spent over 2 and a half hours inside the restaurant.

I don’t even know where to start with how bad this experience was. I ordered a simple soup, thinking it was the safest option on the menu. Instead, I ended up with a bowl that literally had a bug in it. Not “I think I saw something” — an actual insect sitting in my spoon. Completely unacceptable. More

We had a lovely lunch for 12 people on a Saturday to celebrate an 80th birthday.
Food and service were terrific. The restaurant has a warm and friendly vibe. Our waitress Maritza was exceptional taking care of everything. Standout menu items were baked clams, scallops, deviled eggs, steak frites. We will definitely be back!

Kristen is fantastic—we honestly plan our Saturdays around coming back just to see her. She has an incredible ability to read what you like and recommend wines that are consistently spot-on, often introducing us to things we wouldn’t have picked ourselves but end up loving.
She’s knowledgeable without being pretentious, and she makes the whole experience feel warm and easy. Whether it’s a busy night or a quieter one, she still takes the time to be attentive and genuinely welcoming. Her recommendations have become something we trust completely, and she’s a big part of why we keep coming back. ❤️

Several years ago, I made a reservation at this restaurant for 15 people to celebrate my father's 78th birthday. It was the week before Christmas. The restaurant was packed. Our main course was served. My father took a couple of bites of his steak and he suddenly felt like he was choking. He became clammy and I thought he might be having a heart attack. I asked the waiter to call for an ambulance. The manager came over to our table and told me that if the paramedics came into the restaurant then it would disturb the other patrons. He went on to say that he had another large group coming in for a Christmas party and if our dinner was delayed then they might not be able to seat that party on time. He asked if we could please take my father out of the restaurant and walk him down Woodhaven Boulevard to the next corner where the FDNY ambulance was stationed. My brother took my father to the ambulance and then he was taken to the hospital. I remained in the restaurant and paid the bill and said goodbye to our guests. I vowed never to return to this restaurant again. The sheer callousness of the management and staff was shocking. I was thoroughly disgusted by them all and to be honest, the food was mediocre at best.

Let me preference this post by saying this.....I dont sugar coat or mislead in my post. I actually pride myself on being as truthful as possible. I try to allow my viewers to live vicariously through my review, until your able to enjoy these places personally. With that being said let me start by saying this.... those viewers of mine who are familiar with City Island, NY you will understand that this place is NOT that. They give the impression of a Lobster House, or any of those restaurants before you get to the middle of the island. But thats in everything except the food. The customer service was through the roof fantastic. The ambiance again magnificent. But the star of the show, the food, left and overwhelmingly anxious crowd looking for better. I started with there lobster deviled eggs. They were clearly left in the fridge for way to long before being served. The filling was dried out so it became brittle and tasteless. The bite of lobster on top was chewy, like it was over cooked. The caviar, although a cute touch, lost its pop no doubt as a result of being in the fridge air to long. They gave me some bread that asked to be warmed because cold it was very dense and brittle. But I quickly found out the temperature had nothing to do with it. I then tried to enjoy an entrée. I had Salmon that was cooked different though out the fillet. It came with some steamed broccoli, squash, and roasted potatoes. But the carrots accompaniment....was raw. Its sad that the best thing on the plate was this DELICIOUS silky berblanc sauce. I also had some beer battered shrimp that delivered a nice nostalgic vibe. Also there was a nicely broiled lobster tail. But I also had some lobster Mac n cheese that was NOT worth the price tag it carried. I'm guessing my waiter sensed an unsatisfied vibe in me, so as a complimentary gift I was offered a house made dessert. It was a nice dense like custard, with diced spiced apples on top, and an infused whip topping on the the side. Again delicious. My appreciation to waiter for that. All in all a great experience. But the star of the show is where the disappointment lies. So with that im going to say maybe your experience will be better then mine, should you decide to give them a try.

This was our first time visiting and we went for Valentine's Day. The ambiance was nice. We arrived early and were seated immediately. They had a nice selection of options on the menu and pricing was standard. Unfortunately, our server was not as enthusiastic or attentive as expected, which really affected how much we decided to order. We first ordered fried calamari which was typical and baked clams that were very salty. My pineapple margarita had a nice flavor. We then ordered lobster bisque and a crab roll which took 40 mins. Both were fresh made, but lacked flavor. While we waited, we saw other tables seated after us receive appetizers and meals which was disheartening. For our entrees, my husband had fried cod which was typical with french fries that he didn't eat because they were skinny and too crunchy. I had a 1.5lb broiled lobster which was supposed to come with potato and mixed vegetables. I requested to substitute a side salad for the vegetables but the server did not explain prior that the salad substituted both. When I questioned why I didn't receive the potato, the server was confrontational, stating that the salad substituted both and asked me "is that OK with you"? She was condescending and that was embarrassing for me. I did not argue, enjoyed my lobster, and politely asked for the check. The server was still tipped the 20%. Overall, our experience was mixed and we will not be going back. I only took photos at the beginning and was not as excited for the rest of my meal. Maybe your experience will be better.

Was so excited to try this restaurant out. It is such a vibe. My partner and I enjoyed their restaurant week menu. Our favorites had to be the Oysters Rockefeller, Pistachio Crusted Halibut, and the Georgia Peach Crisp with pecans. Their New England Clam Chowder was very hearty. Their bread to start the meal was tasty. On Friday nights live music is playing which was such a treat on top of the great service. Will definitely be back but earlier in the day to enjoy their happy hour specials.

This is really a gem! Been in the neighborhood for 10 years and can’t believe I didn’t know this place until now. The seafood was really good and fresh, a great selection of varieties as well. Wait staffs were super friendly but not so attentive, took out our utensils after taking away the appetizers and never got us new set for the entree until we asked for that, a little hiccups but undeniably friendly. That is the reason I gave out 4/5 for the service. Price wise, very reasonable for seafood restaurants. We were a party of 3 adults and 1 kid, got a seafood tower, chowder, oysters, and two entrees to share and one kids meal, cost $400ish with tips. Overall, great experience and would return and highly recommend.

LL is one of the old time New York places where the staff are lifers. If that gives you a warm feeling then this is your place.
My favorite fish n chips in town.
Good wines too. A standard fare such as Pinot Grigio does not fall by the wayside here, and actually quite noteworthy. Always a good Rias Baixas Albariño on the list, to complete that seaside escape experience.
Old Bay fries; key lime pie; snow crab claws – not a bad place.

Great food, wonderful experience but yes, it's very overpriced. We spent a little over $360 for 2. We mainly went for the king crab because of an IG post we'd seen but they'd neglected to mention it'd cost $85/lb. We were not about to pay … More

The seafood here is always great, but the service is consistently mediocre. On our last visit, the staff actually insisted that we had to leave a minimum 20% tip and refused to accept anything less. Forcing a high tip when the service was barely average is completely unacceptable. Great food isn't enough to make up for that kind of entitlement. Gratuity should match the level of service, and forcing a minimum on mediocre service ruins the dining experience. I hope management addresses this behavior.
